Hello, I am Tori.

I am passionate about dogs and their wellbeing.

Hello, I’m Tori Acres

I am passionate about animals and their well-being. I have two beautiful dogs; they bring me so much joy and happiness; I want to enjoy their company and companionship for as long as possible by maintaining their health in an optimal state.

When I’m not working, I enjoy time with my dogs doing CaniX – or Canine cross country running, dry land mushing, training tricks and going for walks. With my family, I can be spotted getting around on my kick bike (a scooter with bicycle wheels), running, going to the gym, hiking through the bush and mountains, or going on adventures in the snow.

My most significant interest is biomechanics, how the combination of technology and manual therapies can play a role in improving everyday health. Some people love a good novel; my shelves are lined with books on movement, anatomy, and tech… Is that nerdy?

Ultimately my purpose for this business is to increase owners' understanding of their dog's physical and emotional wellbeing, showing how behaviour or movement patterns can correspond to health issues and treating underlying physical and emotional problems.

I have had dogs for 15+ years and horses for 10+ years (although, sadly, I currently don’t have an equine companion). Through that time, I have learned to listen to my animals and realise the limits of my capabilities. This has propelled me into the field of Thermography, using technology to help give animals a voice and identify where they are experiencing pain or inflammation.

My professional background is in Mechanical Engineering and Information Technology; this has given me a deep understanding of how things work, the ability to identify how forces are applied and understand movement.

Over the past five years, I have been building my skillset in the Canine industry and have achieved the following qualifications:

  • International Diploma of Canine Osteopathy
  • Certified Professional Canine Fitness Trainer
  • Certified Canine Bowen Therapist
  • Certified Practitioner of Whole Energy Body Balance – Bodywork for pets

Most of all, I look forward to working with you and your dog; get in contact with me to discuss your goals or the issues you are experiencing.
